Ann spent over 25 years at the University of Pennsylvania where she was head of university and medical center relations during the ‘80s and director of the Pew Higher Education On-campus Roundtable and The Knight Collaborative at the Institute for Research on Higher Education during the ‘90s. She was also associate director of communications for the Institute and created Policy Perspectives, one of the leading higher education periodicals in the United States. At Penn, she served on numerous University planning, fundraising, marketing, and management committees. In 1999, Ann joined the country’s foremost national fundraising firm, Marts & Lundy, to establish and head a new practice in communications and planning.She received her BA from Chatham College and did graduate work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Ann is on the board of the Development Exchange Inc., a service organization to public radio stations across the country.
Jim spent over 25 years at the University of Pennsylvania where he was associate dean in charge of strategic planning and operational management for Penn’s School of Dental Medicine. In that capacity, he served in key leadership positions on University committees dealing with planning and management. He was also on the faculty of the Wharton School’s Management Department, the Graduate School of Education’s Division of Higher Education and the School of Dental Medicine’s Department of Dental Care Systems. Jim was involved in higher education research and planning as a member of the executive committee of the Pew Higher Education Roundtable and The Knight Collaborative and as an editor of Policy Perspectives. Jim received his EdD from the University of Pennsylvania, EdM from Temple University, and BA from La Salle University. He is a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and a Senior Scholar at the Santa Fe Group, an action-oriented think tank that fosters policy and initiates actions to improve the health and well-being of the public.
